Western Virginia Manager declares a state of emergency against the background of flooding – WSAZ

Charleston, W.VA. (WSAZ) – Western Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisi has declared a state of emergency against the background of heavy rainfall and floods in cable, Greenbrier, Canaha, Logan, Mercer, McDowell, Ming, Summers and Wayoming.

Morrisie sent the message on Saturday night.

He calls on all Western Virginians to be vigilant and to be careful, as other parts of the state are affected by adverse weather.

Governor Morrisi ordered the staff and resources to mobilize and respond to any emergency and delegated certain administrative powers of the Director of the Emergency Management Department in West Virginia (WveMD) to facilitate the provision of basic emergency services.

The state of readiness is already in force in all 55 districts of West Virginia. The National Meteorological Service has issued warnings for floods, floods and warnings of floods in certain regions of the state.

Governor Morrisi and WveMD ask the Western Virginians to remain attentive to weather conditions through local media communications and to follow all instructions issued by emergency management staff.
