Florida shoots 70% in the second half to take control on Saturday night (Athletics in Florida)

The South Carolina Men’s Basketball Team remains without a win in 2025 with a loss of 88-67 in the third ranked Florida on Saturday night. This is equal to a losing series of 12 games, all in the competition of SEC. Gamecocks are two losses to bind the program record for consecutive losses in one season.

For half, Gamecocks gave Gators everything they could handle. USC had a 23-18 lead at one point, but Gamecocks went in the last eight minutes of half-time without a goal in the field and suffered six rpm, and Gators caught and betrayed them to lead 37-33 at halftime.

The second half was all Florida. Gators ahead of Gamecocks 51-34, shooting 70% (19-27). This included 8-14 performance from three-point territory. Conversely, Gamecocks fired 36% and made only one of eight shots of three. Gators ended with 60% shooting, best rating against Gamecocks this season.

Florida took four of her first photos, including a pair of triplets to open the second half and built the lead to 49-34. Gamecocks started 2-11 from the floor in the second half and, as a result, fell into a 21-point hole. They have never done running from there.

Gators finished 14-28 on triphoners, the most common of Gamecocks this season. They also scored 21 points from 13 rpm of USC, had 26 points for a quick understanding and 24 assists of their 32 baskets.

Jacoby Wright was the best offensive USC contractor, going 6-9 from the team floor maximum 13 points. Nick Pringle and Colin Murray-Boil had 12 points each. Denzel Aberdeen led all goal scorers with 22 points, including five triangers.

Gamecocks are already a total of 10-15 and 0-12 on SEC. They will play in LSU on Tuesday night.
