Arrest committed after 1 killed, 2 injured during a “heated dispute” at Homeah Home – WPLG Local 10

Hialeah, FLA. – A man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting and a piercing incident that left one man dead and two other wounded during a dispute at Hyalia’s home on Wednesday, authorities confirmed on Friday.

50-year-old Milton Kao was remained in custody and faced a second-degree killings and possession of a convicted person, according to Hyalea police.

The incident happened around 10:30 am Wednesday at a home in 3900 block of West 10 court. Employees responded to firing messages and arrived to find one man dead and two other wounded.

Neighbor Jaika Castro told the local 10 news in Spanish that she heard what sounds like a rifle before he witnessed a man running out.

“I heard a shot, I opened the door and when I came out, a man was running,” Castro said. “I knew something had happened because it was a child for me.”

According to a police spokesman in Hyalaya Jose Torres, the dispute inside the home escalated when the suspect armed himself with a knife and attacked a man of his 50s. The 16-year-old son of the victim saw the attack and intervened, maintaining many cuts on his hands in the process, investigators said.

Police said that when the attacker tried to leave home, Kao, who was armed with a gun, shot him in the back, killed him at the scene.

Authorities said the paramedics had transported victims to local hospitals.

The teenager was taken to the Niklaus Children’s Hospital, where he was stated in stable condition. His father was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson’s Memorial and remained in a critical but stable condition, according to police.

Detectives were seen bumping through the stage late at night, looking for evidence, including inside the trash bins, as they worked to gather what happened.

Police have not released a motive at this time, but confirmed that CAO has been removed.

As of Friday, CAO is held at the Turner Guilford Knight correction center, where its connection is referred to as “to be placed”.

Prison records show that CAO had a previous arrest on a cocaine charge.
