2026 DB Taj Powell is excited about developing relationships with West Virginia – West Virginia Football

Springfield (Oh.) 2026. The Athlete Taj Powell already had relationships with West Virginia.

This is because his brother Jonathan is a freshman in the men’s basketball team, but the younger Powell has attracted a lot of attention because of his own skills on the football field.

The three -star perspective on Rivals.com received its first Power Five offer from the mountaineers on January 24th and as this moment met quite well.

Nickels and Sams coach Henry Weinraich and chief coach Rich Rich Richriguez dealt with the greater part of his dialing so far, and each made a strong impression, especially after visiting the campus for a junior day on February 1.

“The recruitment process with West Virginia was incredible. Ever since I received a phone call and received the offer, I felt a great connection with me and the coaching staff, “he said.

On his last visit to Campus, Powell said he was immediately greeted with love and respect and showed him how much they were interested in their potential goals. And while it is still early in recruiting, the mountaineers have certainly put their best leg forward in recruiting.

“Western Virginia is definitely a top school I have looked at in and have a great college career. The atmosphere, the development of the players, the coaching staff and everything else are in place, “he said.

This stop for the junior day was his second visit to the campus, but the most gave him a chance to truly experience the school and look really at what he could offer.

And now he has booked a return for an official visit on June 6-8.

“I am concerned to build more connection with the coaching staff and hope to see the players train and see how the coaches break the game and how they scheme against the opponents,” Powell said.

Western Virginia is aimed at Nickel’s Powell/Sam position and coaches as the fact that he is aggressive off the edge and is able to meet players in the precipice to make the play.

“They also like my explosiveness and I have a ball for the ball. Another piece of my game they like is that I’m a universal player, “he said. “I can enter the coverage and make a game through the air.”

Powell expects nothing to be handed to him at a college level and is excited to work hard and win his place on the pitch. He wants to find a place with strong scientists and solid support.

“I want a competitive football program with great facilities and a positive team culture,” he said.
