Overview
Work package 6 covers the dissemination of
project results and good practices in accident and injury prevention.
Aim:
This work package
is aimed at establishing a platform with organizations that interconnect
with existing networks with thematic interests in the field of injury
prevention for the dissemination of results of APOLLO and promotion of
injury prevention.
This WP will provide the dissemination
avenue of the project in collaboration with WP1. It will result in:
- A better understanding among all
stakeholders of the practical value of existing injury information
systems, among which the EU-injury information system (IDB), and on
the different resource systems for good practices in injury
prevention, in view of shaping effective policies for all types of
injuries in all age groups;
- Enhancement of utilization of injury
data and implementation of best practices for injury prevention by
all relevant stakeholders and user groups;
- A stronger involvement of existing
sectoral networks in the safety domain in the dissemination of state
of the art knowledge on injury prevention and safety promotion;
Inventory
of European NGOs.The
inventory is divided into six injury domains: Consumer Safety, Suicide
prevention, Transport, Violence prevention, Work safety, other relevant
organizations.
Declaration
on priorities in injury prevention safety promotion in the EU.
The first document singed by the APOLLO work package leaders and NGOs as
founding members during the 2nd Injury Prevention and Safety
Promotion Conference in Paris on October 2008 stating their consensus in
collaborating towards addressing all types of injuries in all age groups
according to the priorities set in the relevant documents of the
official EU and WHO documents and also the terms and conditions of this
collaboration.
